Oh Deer! Vintage ephemera / junk journal

I'm quite pleased with this little vintage ephemera journal, which is for sale on my Etsy page: https://www.etsy.com/listing/544874311.  I must admit I'm quite pleased with my beautiful deer rubber stamp. It just lends such charm to any project I use it in. When you look closely, he has warm eyes and a cheeky, wholly anthropomorphised grin. While there are deer in the US, where I currently reside, they are iconic of the English countryside, in my mind, and which the name "Hedgerow Secrets" attempts to capture. Though I am a Melbourne girl at heart, a part of my heart is also firmly rooted in the English countryside. Being a dual national, I'm lucky, work permitting, to be able to move between my Australian and English worlds. I guess I'm a little nostalgic as I'll be leaving my little Californian abode to head back to England for the foreseeable future in a week.

This little journal, like all my journals, has little pockets for hiding treasures, and comes with some of its own, including vintage tea cards and handmade luggage tags, one finished in vintage cream ribbon. There is also vintage lace edging to the journal, and it is bound with vintage crimson metallic thread.

I'm particularly enamoured with this English Victorian book illustration. Is woman seems wise and mysterious to me. I would love to share an English ale with her by a log fire on a cold day and hear her thoughts.

There is also a section of vintage Australian atlas. I've also added some vintage sewing pattern section; I love its texture and patterning. There's also a vintage photo of a child. A section of a Golden Book illustration is also included. I also love his girl's cheeky, intelligent expressions. Maybe it is a journal of profound women. I would love to hear her thoughts as well. In the middle there is some blank paper for including the owner's notes and other additions. I wonder about the journals sold on my Etsy shop. Where have they gone? What additions have been added to them, or have they been left as is?

Thank you for stopping by!
